The first thing you will notice about this Merlot is the strikingly rich color that builds a lofty expectation. Further investigation will not disappoint. Aromas of marshmallow, cocoa, and vanilla inspire visions of hot chocolate after a day on the slopes. On the palate this wine exhibits a delightful and lingering blend of bright red fruits. The tannins and acidity are balanced elegantly against the bold fruitfulness that distinguishes the wine.

The flavor profile of the 2006 Cabernet is similar to the 2003 vintage, which was the first crop from the Minnick Hills vineyard. It displays tons of dark, jammy fruit, blackberries, currants, huckleberries. As the vineyard ages, the fruit is displaying greater complexity, and better tanic structure. Part of this is due to the fact that this was the first time we used our Estate Petit Verdot in the blend, it is an awesome blending component. 91 pts. Wine Spectator
