Minnick Hills Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

2013 Minnick Hills Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

This is our most prestigious and age-worthy wine. Aromas include red currants, raspberry cobbler, black pepper, clove, and cedar shavings. This wine is dense and rich, with flavors of cassis, ripe berries, rose petals, bay leaf, green olives, and roasted nuts. Dusty tannins and well balanced acidity carry the fruit into a long, delicious finish.

If you have the space and patience to do so, we recommend laying this wine down for a few years to increase your enjoyment upon opening.

OLDER VINTAGES

2012 Minnick Hills Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

We only produce our Reserve wine in years with an exceptional vintage, and 2012 was truly exceptional. The grapes for this wine come from our favorite part of the Minnick Hills Vineyard, which allows for optimum ripening just before harvest.

This wine features fruit aromas of cassis and blackberry. Additional aromas include classic Walla Walla dusty spice box, plus pencil lead and leather. This is a rich and meaty wine, with layers of complexity. Our Minnick Hills Reserve will benefit from decanting while young, and maintain its solid structure for years to come.

“The scent of this wine reminds me of my first leather jacket—a Navy pilot’s vintage aviator jacket, purchased at our local surplus store. I loved that jacket.”

2010 Minnick Hills Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

We only produce a "Reserve" wine in years with a spectacular vintage, and 2010 was one of those years.

The 2010 vintage started with a cool spring and summer that yielded small berries and concentrated flavors. The growing season ended with an ideal autumn, enabling ripe berries with a wonderful balance between sugar levels and acidity.

The first thing you’ll notice about this wine is the dark, rich color. An appealing nose filled with figs and blackberries proceeds a lush, ripe mouthfeel with everything in balance. Evolving in your glass, this wine invites you to linger with the wine and spend more time than you normally would. This Reserve has approachable tannins, yet a solid structure that will age well for the next 10-15 years. We don’t make our Minnick Hills Reserve every year—only the years that are truly exceptional.
