Estate Syrah

2010 Estate Syrah

We were delighted to have our 2009 Estate Syrah tie for 1st place in Wine Press Northwest Magazine’s annual Syrah judging this year, and we are even more excited about this new release.

Grapes for this wine come again from two of our estate vineyards in the Walla Walla Valley. Minnick Hills Vineyard, located at the northern end of the AVA, is one of the warmer sites in the valley, creating ripe fruit that adds to the complexity of this wine. Breezy Slope Vineyard, running up the Blue Mountains, is a higher and cooler site with relatively heavy soils. Both sites bring unique flavor and structure to this wine.

This third release of Syrah features notes of black pepper, blackberries and nutmeg. Crisp tannins and bright acidity create balance and a solid structure, finding almost every part of the palate.

OLDER VINTAGES

2009 Estate Syrah

Grapes for this wine come from two of our estate vineyards in the Walla Walla Valley. Both sites bring unique flavor and structure to this enchanting blend.

A dense, rich wine, offering scents of ripe blackberries and currants that mingle with bacon, leather, and a touch of minerality. Mouth-filling fruit flavors are balanced with good acidity and a long, expressive finish.
